Step 3: You have to find the equivalent number of those vowels in the chart below. Aside from A, E, I, O, U, the letter Y is also counted in this chart. However, the letter y is only applicable when it sounds like a vowel. For instance, in the name “Abby,” the letter y sounds like “ee.”
