“Hurt, people, hurt people.”

A common phrase is bearing the sad truth. You could see and observe people who hurt others are usually the ones who were hurt in the first place.

Their pain may have come from different situations or caused by other people and ended up projecting it to those they feel they need to be defensive and protect themselves, making them insecure or reminding them of the same situation that wounded their soul.

When the suffering is not healed, and the salt is added to the wound, it becomes a vicious cycle causing them to lash out at other people. Unfortunately, the pattern goes the same for you and everyone.

So, you should give yourself the time to reflect on why you are trying to hurt someone, especially your loved one. Then, dig deeper and ask yourself, “where is the pain coming from, and how can I help myself to heal from it?”

When you have said or done something terrible, causing physical, verbal, or emotional pain, remind yourself that it is not you but your emotions. In a human sense, you will not intend to hurt someone when you are in a state of love, positivity, and compassion unless there's a mental condition going on.

However, you can intentionally hurt someone, even a loved one. The drive to do so is deep inside you and your broken and aching heart.

Gift yourself forgiveness so you can get out of the shame of hurting others and forgive them along the way. Remind yourself that you are loved enough to forgive yourself.

The process of acceptance, forgiveness, healing, and loving back takes a lot of courage to do. Like praying to St. Raphael for healing, come to the Lord to hope your wounds can be used for good, like healing, growth, and a healthy outlook on yourself.

One day, your scars will sing the praise of the Lord, who embraced the imperfect you, mended every inch of your broken parts, and transformed your life.

End the cycle of all the pain in the triumph of the Lord's name. Pray not only for yourself but also desire the good of others.

Dear Lord, forgive me for hurting someone, your child, your creation.

My heart has grown bitter because I am in pain and hurting to one degree or another.

The damage in my heart caused me to be defensive and self-protective, lashing out at others.

For a moment, I have let the negativity consume my soul.

I have failed to control my emotions and have forgotten your words and teachings.

Lord, you know I am not perfect, but I will not use this as an excuse to remain bitter toward someone who inflicted my pain.

Thus, I ask that you give me all the courage and strength to build the will to change myself for the better and refresh my soul with your teachings.

I know, Lord, it is not your will for me to hurt other people.

I am sorry if I hurt someone physically or emotionally, may it be intentional, unintentional, or in any way.

Please help me to receive healing for my hurting heart.

Love me the most when my soul is wounded and when I inflict pain on others.

Please give me the enlightenment to be aware of what I am doing.

May your love and light radiate to me that will bear my understanding.

Please guide me to have the courage to accept my mistakes.

As I ask for your forgiveness, please help me to forgive myself first so I can forgive others.

Please help me let go of everything stopping me from shining my light.

Help me let go of my heart's fears, anger, and hatred.

I am grateful, Lord, for your never-ending love and acceptance of those who sinned.

I praise and glorify your almighty name. Amen

Prayer for Someone to Forgive You

You and the person you may have inflicted pain on are both hurting inside in one way or another. So, it is important to make them understand lovingly why you did something, own your mistakes, remove all the blaming from the other party and ask for forgiveness.

The important part is to assure them that it will not happen again. Make them see and feel that you are putting action to change certain behaviors, mentality, and intentions leading to change and growth.

Pray for someone you think you have wronged them and show repentance for any actions you may have caused. However, pray not in the way of begging for their forgiveness as it should not be desperation—which is negative.

Instead, pray for their peace and desire for their good.

Somehow, it looks contradictory, but when you do it, it allows you to honor your disaster and admit and be honest about what you have done. It opens up your heart for self-acceptance, forgiveness, and self-healing.

Dear Almighty Father, today I come to you to ask for someone to have a forgiving heart.

I may have caused her to hate me consciously or unconsciously, triggered her, hurt, or angered her.

Whatever the reason may be, I pray that you free her from all the bitterness in her heart, her anger towards me, or any resentment, feeling of betrayal, and frustrations.

I pray, Lord, that you put her heart in peace and produce the fruit of forgiveness in her soul that would enable her to choose forgiveness.

I ask you, Lord, to release her from her need and satisfaction for revenge in retaliation for the pain I may have afflicted her.

I pray for your light, Oh Lord, that would come down and hug her tightly, reminding her who she truly is.

Allow your love to transcend beyond any human understanding and will make her feel that she is loved enough to forgive.

Warm her heart and allow her to feel the safety and security to let go and surrender all the emotional baggage she is carrying.

We have hurt each other in any form or way because of these circumstances.

And so, I pray that you put our hearts in oneness and perfect harmony with you so that we may forgive each other and our shortcomings.

I pray, above all else, the healing of her wounded heart, mind, and soul that has made her do undesirable things that her true self wouldn't do.

I trust and pray this through your name. Amen

Prayer for Forgiveness and Letting Go

When pain and damage were caused to you, it is hard to imagine not forgiving those people who put you in distress and misery.

But you feel this way only because hating, complaining, or being bitter I easier than acceptance, forgiveness, and healing. So, it's okay, and the pain you bear is very understandable.

You see yourself coming back to old ways and your old self. Grow forward, not backward.

Forgive and let go of those people and circumstances that have hurt you. Now is your time to set yourself free from bitterness and pain.

Do this for yourself and your peace of mind. Do this for your healing and freedom.

The bravest thing you could do for yourself is to forgive those people who were not sorry for what happened to you. It is the most courageous way to allow yourself to grow when you forgive those people who are not even aware of the pain they inflicted on you.

It takes a lot of work, strength, and courage to get out of a difficult situation and to forgive. It takes a lot of messy healing and inner work.

It takes a lot of acceptance and seeing your naked mind and authentic self. It takes a lot to forgive yourself.

But when you do, it's going to be worth it. So, come near to God for his help and guidance.

Take your wounded self as a passage for your growth. Pray for your peace of mind and live in forgiveness and letting go.

God, I am coming to you asking for your help, so I can live in forgiveness and letting go.

Some people have caused me pain, betrayal, bullying, lied to me, or any form of action which wounded my heart and made me feel miserable, and made my life difficult.

I admitted all the pain I felt was turned into anger, resentment, and grudge, and it made me feel like I couldn't forgive those people who made me this way.

My rational mind sometimes thinks that they don't deserve any kindness and forgiveness and deserve to suffer.

Sometimes, I feel it is unfair that they are living a good life while I'm here, stuck and suffering from everything they did to me.

But now, I have realized that I need to forgive for my peace of mind.

Oh God, give an understanding of why things needed to be this way.

I wanted to stop being the victim of outside circumstances that I couldn't control and make peace with myself.

Please help me, God, gather all the courage, strength, and power to forgive myself first so that I can ask for your forgiveness and forgive them.

Work your magic on them and give them allowance for growth, awaken their hearts and make them realize what they are doing, so they wouldn't do it to others.

God, I surrender to you all the pain, fears, traumas, doubts, and insecurities that have built up inside me.

Mend my broken heart and help me heal my inner wounds.

I let go of all of the negativity that is consuming me.

I let go of all of the energies that no longer serve me.

I let go of those people who have hurt me.

I let go of the thought of revenging myself.

I let go of everything stopping me from being loving, compassionate, kind, and forgiving.

Now is the time to honor my disaster, make peace with myself and love all parts of me that are hurting.

I embrace your love and light that will warm my heart and heal me.

I trust in your divine intervention, Oh God, as I can't do this alone.

I pray all of this in your almighty name. Amen
