The Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of God, giving birth to the Savior Jesus Christ. Mary’s mission is to provide the Son of God with the flesh of blood and the human body, contributing to the Incarnation.

Catholics believe in Mary but do not worship her as a God. Thus, you should pray to her as the Mother of God to intercede for you and your salvation.

3 Day Miracle Prayer to Mother Mary

The Prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a 3 Day miracle prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and it is never known to fail! It is part of a novena prayer beginning on July 7 and is prayed in time of need.

Carmelites and other Christian believers recite these three times daily for nine consecutive days (novena). Like praying to St. Anthony, pray for a miracle to be granted to the Blessed Virgin Mary in three days.

[Repeat these prayers for three consecutive days]

Oh, most beautiful flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me here you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech Thee from the bottom of my heart to secure me in my necessity.

[Make your request]

There are none that can withstand your power. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee. Amen [repeat three times] Holy Mary, I place this cause in Your hands. Amen [repeat three times]

Hail Mary

What was the first prayer that crossed your mind when you heard prayers dedicated to Virgin Mary? Most certainly, it’s the most famous Hail Mary.

Hail Mary is the most well-known prayer to Blessed Virgin Mary. Every Christian knows or is familiar with this prayer, and it is even written in different languages led by Latin, the Ave Maria, as its first official language.

The first part of the prayer is the words of the Archangel Gabriel in the gospel of Luke praising the Virgin Mary.

“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.” (Luke 1:28)

The second part came from The Visitation, written in the gospel of Luke. Elizabeth visited Mary, filled with the Holy Spirit; she cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1:42)

The last part is a supplication that does not come from the Scriptures. Thus, an official formulation in the reformed of the Roman Breviary by Pope Pius V in 1568.

The following is in the Latin text:

AVE MARIA, gratia plena, Dominus tecum.

Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus.

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.

Amen.

The English translation is as follows:

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen is the second of the most famous prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The origin of this prayer can be traced back 11th century ago.

The prayer was written by a Benedictine monk named Blessed Herman the Cripple, who monks raised in Germany. He was born special with his gift despite his physical condition.

He was a remarkable man who studied math, astronomy, theology, history, Arabic, Greek, and Latin and wrote hymns—the most notable being the Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen)

His compassion to praise and serve the Lord transcended his physical limitations. In people's eyes, he is just a crippled, disabled man. But in the eyes of God, Herman is free, diving deep in a spiritual sense into his mercy.

Blessed Herman the Cripple may not be able to stand, but the beautiful hymn he created stands tall to this day. The original words of the Hail Holy Queen in Latin—Salve Regina.

The following is in the Latin text:

SALVE, Regina, mater misericordiae, vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.

Ad te clamamus exsules filii Hevae.

Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes in hac lacrimarum valle.

Eia, ergo, advocata nostra, illos tuos misericordes oculos ad nos converte.

Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui, nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.

O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria. Amen.

V. Ora pro nobis, sancta Dei Genetrix.

R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

Oremus:

Amen.

The English translation is as follows:

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve:

To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus,

O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

Almighty, everlasting God, who by the cooperation of the Holy Spirit, didst prepare the body and soul of the glorious Virgin-Mother Mary to become a worthy dwelling for Thy Son; grant that we who rejoice in her commemoration may, by her loving intercession, be delivered from present evils and from the everlasting death. Amen.

The Memorare

A novena is in the traditions of the old-school Catholic faith. Novenas are involved in reciting prayers for nine days for a specific intention.

The nine days the Apostles and Mary spent praying to the Holy Spirit after the Ascension of Jesus in the Upper Room influenced the tradition of praying novenas.

If you were facing an emergency and didn’t have nine days to pray a novena, this quick novena by Mother Teresa is for you.

The Memorare is prayed to receive the grace of urgent favors from the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mother Teresa used this to heal a sick child; many other testimonies prove this prayer is powerful.

To pray this, pray this prayer nine repeated times in a row for your specific intention.

[recite prayer for nine times in a row]

Remember, O most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother.

To thee do I cry, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

The Angelus

Like the Seven Prayers of St. Bridget, the Angelus consists of verses and responses, three Hail Marys, and a concluding prayer. The prayer is recited three times a day—9 am, 12 noon, and every 6 pm.

Usually, Catholic churches ring the bell three times every 12 noon and 6 in the evening as a sign to meditate in this prayer in honor of the Incarnation of the Lord. The custom of praying the Angelus can be dated back to the 13th century.

The history of the Angelus is not very clear, unlike other prayer devotions. However, the development has gone through some time, and recent Popes suggest praying this daily.

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed

art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy

womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us

sinners, now and at the hour of

our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed

art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy

womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us

sinners, now and at the hour of

our death. Amen.

And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed

art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy

womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us

sinners, now and at the hour of

our death. Amen.

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

The Magnificat

The Magnificat is known as Mary’s Song praising the Lord, written in the gospel of Luke (1:46-55). Mary glorifies the Lord for his Holiness, Power, Mercy, and proclamation of divine fulfillment—giving birth to the promised Messiah.

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

for he has looked with favor on his humble servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed,

the Almighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear Him

in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,

he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,

and has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel

for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

the promise he made to our fathers,

to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy

Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever.

Amen, Alleluia.
