 Heracles attacked them using his bow and arrows dipped in the Hydra's toxic blood, killing a number of them before chasing the others into the woods.

Pholus, amazed by how a small object like an arrow could kill a mighty centaur, took one up to study it, dropped it, and the poison instantly killed him. One of the centaur bodies orbiting Saturn and Uranus was the name Pholus.
