Fasting is a powerful spiritual practice with so many meanings. One of them was to improve our ways of communicating with God.

But how?

It is not just a way of detoxing the body or losing weight. As the practice of fasting, your body, mind, and spirit become much more aligned in oneness with God.

The foods that you eat consume most of your energy. If you do fast, you have a complete focus and energy for prayer and devotion to God.

Some fast for health and healing. Others do it for the spiritual aspect.

It will strengthen your mind and your faith in God.

As you conclude your fast, that is the best time to express gratitude. Use that powerful energy to have a delightful conversation with God through a meaningful prayer.

Also, pray for clarity of mind and mindfulness about the foods you are about to consume after the fast. Give thanks and seek more guidance.

You can use this prayer after breaking your fast.

Dear Heavenly Father,

My heart is full of gratitude and love as you pour the new refreshment into my life.

I thank you. I praise you for the love, light, and peace I've experienced during my fast.

Thank you for strengthening my spirit and faith during my devotion.

As I end my fasting with these prayers, I allow you to come into my heart and soul.

Enlighten my spirit and remind me to be more mindful of the foods I consume.

I express my gratitude for the blessings that I've received.

Thank you for the food and water that I am about to consume.

I offer all of this to you for your goodness and the celebration of eternal life.

All this I pray to you, Almighty Father.

Amen.

Three days Fasting Prayer Points

What is fasting?

Traditionally, if you think about fasting, most people think of it as detoxing the body, cleansing, and losing weight.

Yes, it is.

However, the spiritual side of it was way too deep. Based on history, people practiced this age ago because of its spiritual benefits.

Fasting is a sacred method of resting the digestive system while nourishing. Because when a person eats most of its energy, we're used to digesting the foods consumed.

Doing a fast will allow your body to reset and focus its energy on other activities. That includes contemplation, meditation, and meaningful prayer.

Why do people fast and pray?

Prayer with fasting is one key to having that clear signal of communication with the Lord. Since you fast, you cleanse your system and transcend your higher energies to connect to the Lord.

A powerful way to be in oneness with the Lord. However, this would be tough sometimes.

Doubts and fear will naturally kick in your mind and test your spirit. It's normal, as our brain evolved in survival mode. As a result, temptations will lure around you.

If this happens, remind yourself of your faith. You are strong!

Prayer Points:

The first thing to remember is that your ability to surrender is vital. Faith will get you there.

Second, set your intentions and remember that you are doing this for a bigger purpose. Practice worship prayers to the Lord.

Third, prepare your mind mentally and your spirit to flow forward.

Finally, prepare your heart in repentance and look for a quiet place to pray and meditate.

Let God be your inspiration. Know that you are not alone, and you are not doing this alone.

God is guiding you and supporting you all the way. So, seek enlightenment, strength, and blessings.

Dear God,

I praise and worship you for all your goodness.

I glorify you and acknowledge you as my savior.

I thank you sincerely for bestowing me with eternal life.

Thank you for the strength you have given me as I do my fasting.

Thank you for reminding me that my faith is more significant than temptations.

With absolute surrender and trust, I come to you.

I call upon you. My heart, mind, and soul are open to receive you unto my life.

Catholic Prayer for Breaking Fast

According to the Catholic Bible, Jesus fasted right after his baptism. He fasted for forty days and forty nights.

Why did Jesus fast, and what is the purpose of that? What does it teach us about fasting and devotion?

Jesus fasted to have his body, mind, and soul in alignment with God. It's a spiritual practice to prepare his state of being in direct and clear communication with God.

To strengthen his spirit, to reject the devil's temptation. These make him closer to God before the journey he's about to embark on.

As you read this, you are probably about to end your fast. First, congratulate yourself on the breakthrough.

One of the best practices before breaking a fast is to pray and express gratitude and love for God.

Oh Lord Jesus Christ,

I praise you

I glorify you, Oh Lord.

I thank you for the gift of life.

My heart is full of gratitude for the strength you have given me.

You fill my soul with eternal life and salvation.

Come into my heart and soul as you renew my being.

As I break my fast, I seek your blessings.

Awakened me, and please keep in safe with your love and guidance.

I offer you the food and water that I'm about to consume.

In our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray.

Amen.

Prayers to Say While Fasting

Fasting is a traditional practice of denying your body the need for food for some period. It's a spiritual method of testing the strength of one's spirit to align oneness with God.

These days, people fast to have a break and ground some energies, and hit reset on one's spiritual life. The idea is to help the practitioner focus their energy on practices like prayers and contemplation.

It is an act of discipline and self-control. Spiritual fasting requires your ability to surrender to your desire for food.

It is how you let go of earthly things to create space and welcome the infinite and higher power beyond you.

Fasting can be challenging, for it will test your faith, and temptations are always there. Your mind will kick in some doubts and fear.

If that happens, remind yourself of your intentions and why you started them. You can conquer everything with the power of absolute faith.

It's rewarding to overcome such spiritual challenges, for this is a powerful way to receive God's presence.

As you are fasting, it is best to seek God's strength and blessings to conquer it successfully. Seek the blessings of God, and you will receive them.

Dear Lord & Heavenly Father,

All praise, honor, and glory to you, Oh God.

I welcome you wholly as I embark on this session of fasting.

My heart is full of joy, and my mouth will sing your grace.

I surrender to you and completely trust in your way.

Come into my heart and soul and embrace me with your undying love and mercy.

Lend me your strength to overcome my desires and give me the power to keep me going.

I trust faith will renew my life and keep growing under your guidance and love.

I pray for your enlightenment as I walk down this path and learn the knowledge of your faith and love.

Your merciful love saves me and allows me to be in oneness with your holiness.

I pray that in times of temptation, your spirit will nourish my faith to turn the impossible into the possible.

All this, I pray in the power of the Almighty God, the father.

Amen.
