Jade is the name used to refer to two gemstones: the nephrite and jadeite. These two gemstones have differences, but they can go in the water.

Nephrite Jade usually comes in green color but can also be seen in yellow and brown and contains a variety of mineral actinolite.

Nephrite Jade also has a shinier and resin-like texture.

According to the Mohs scale of hardness, the nephrite jade is softer and scores from 6 to 6.5.

Regardless of the two gemstones having different ranks on the Mohs scale, they are still safe in the water and can withstand the water.

Even though Jade crystal is safe with water, you still need to be careful about what type of water you will use on your Jade.

Also, note how long you will use the water for your Jade or in any water-safe crystals. All crystals are not advisable to be in the water for an extended period.

This article will discuss how to cleanse your Jade with water properly.

Can Jade Go in Running Water?

The simplest and easiest way to clean the crystals is through running water. It is also convenient since most people have access to water.

Considering the score of the Jade on the Mohs scale, it can go in running water. You can use running water to clean and cleanse your crystal.

To perform this method, hold your Jade under running tap water for a few minutes, gently wipe off the dirt in the crystal while it is underwater.

You can also use mild and gentle soap while cleansing your Jade. Make sure that you will rinse it thoroughly.

Let it dry using a soft dry cloth and fresh air.

In cleaning, you can also use a soft-bristle toothbrush to brush away the dirt from your Jade.

As much as possible, limit the exposure of the Jade to the water.

Also, steaming your Jade is not safe. It may cause severe damage to your jade crystal.

Pool water contains chlorine to keep the water from the pool clean. However, the chemicals from the chlorine may not be suitable for your Jade.

Avoiding contact with chlorine is safe to keep your crystal safe and beautiful. Any chemicals can harm your jade crystal.

It is not advisable to bring your jade crystal in pool water.

If your jade crystal gets in the chlorine or other chemicals, it is better to rinse it off as soon as possible.

Make sure to rinse it thoroughly and let it dry using a soft cloth.

Can Jade Go in Moon Water?

Considering the score of Jade on the Mohs scale, it is safe to be in moon water for the entire night.

To perform a moon water bath for your Jade, fill the bowl with fresh water and soak your crystal there, leave it through the entire night and let it dry after.

Do this every once in a month, or not too often, so that moon water would not cause harmful effects on your Jade.

However, if you do not want to soak your jade crystal in the water, you can still use the moonlight without the water as the medium.

Just place your jade crystal outside or on your windowsill, ensure that the moon's rays are visible, then leave it there overnight.

It is best to wait for the full moon when charging because the moon's energy is at its peak by that time.
